Caught In The Act: See How Joseph Nwobike (SAN) Was Caught Bribing Justice Yunusa with N1Million

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is currently investigating Joseph Nwobike, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) who is alleged to have bribed embattled High Court Judge, Justice Mohammed Yunusa, with N1 million.

According to Sahara Reporters, Justice Yunusa had issued an injunction stopping anti-graft agencies from investigating or arresting the Personal Assistant (PA) to Patrick Akpobolokemi, the former Director General of the Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).

The EFCC discovered that Akpobolokemi’s PA had purchased a property in Banana Island, Lagos, from money allegedly obtained from corrupt practices at NIMASA.

Nwobike had persuaded Justice Yunusa to issue an injunction that will stop the investigation or arrest of the PA.

According to the news report, Nwobike was shocked when evidence connecting to him to the bribe and the injunction was shown to him.

It would be recalled that Justice Yunusa was also linked in the ongoing criminal trial of top lawyer, Rickey Tarfa.

Yunusa had received N225, 000 from Tarfa, who claimed that the money was a ‘gift’ to commiserate with Justice Yunusa over his father’s death.

It is also alleged that Justice Yunusa had issued the injunction that stopped investigation into the corrupt acquisition of BMW bulletproff vehicles by former minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah.

Yunusa has long since been transferred to Yobe state pending investigation into his activities.
