The victim in question reportedly posted a blasphemous statement on a social media thus sparking off an angry reaction and a pandemonium ensued.
Two churches, three houses, and many shops were reportedly looted and set on fire.
The name of the victim has been given as Methodus Emmanuel Chimaijie, aged 24 by the Niger State Police Command spokesperson, ASP Bala.
The reports revealed that the young man was trailed to his house in the above-named town where he was swooped on and beaten to death along with other 4 personnel of the Nigerian Civil Defence Corps.
