As usual, John Cena works one of the best matches of the evening and gets almost no credit for his efforts from the fans. What’s new?
Styles was typically amazing with his timing and selling skills, but what made this match really shine was the story both men told throughout. They made it feel like the big match the WWE hyped it to be.
There were excellent reversals—like Styles rolling out of the Attitude Adjustment into a Calf Crusher—and there was great drama. Styles got help from Gallows and Anderson. They attacked Cena while the referee was out of commission to get their guy the victory.
It was a relatively cheap way to end a big match, but it helps to set up a longer program between Styles and Cena.
